IMG Residency Matching Interview

IMG Interview Preparation and Mock Interview

The ERAS and CaRMS residency interview is one of the most important aspects of your residency admissions process. The ERAS and CaRMS interview is the only opportunity you have to meet with influential faculty in a non-clinical setting to showcase your strengths, interest and skillset.

Similar to medical school interviews, residency interviews can include, Panel Style interviews, MMI interviews and hybrid round-table formats. Unlike medical school interviews, the ERAS and CaRMS interview focuses only on you as a candidate, providing you an opportunity to showcase your skillset in 20-40 minutes.

Knowledge of Canadian and American Healthcare, North American medical systems and experience in these areas is essential. Preparing for the residency interview requires strategic planning and preparation. For many International Medical Graduates, they prepare for 6 months in advance to ensure they deliver a high quality interview if afforded the opportunity. Many IMGs find preparing for the interview challenging as they balance clinical demands, research and personal engagements. Many IMGs are unsure where to begin or what is expect of them in a residency interview, especially if foreign trained.

Our highly skilled American and Canadian medical team at MedApplications™ gives you first-hand experience of knowing exactly what it takes to successfully match to your top residency choice in the United States and Canada. We focus on your clinical experiences, research publications, academic awards, character traits and your overall interest in pursuing your chosen medical specialty.

Creating a mature and comprehensive interview strategy is important to performing confidently and at your best. MedApplications™ uses an evidence-based strategy to teach you how to successfully interview for ERAS or CaRMS, by combining first-hand clinical experience in the specialty of choice with longstanding experience as ERAS and CaRMS admissions committee members.
