Medical Research Before Medical School

Pre-Medical students often struggle with finding medical research placements locally, which can add a significant amount of unnecessary stress. For many students, their medical research placements don’t necessarily lead to publications, posters or abstracts, which is looked at extremely favorable on a medical school application.

Our diverse medical team at MedApplications™ is here to assist pre-medical students with securing medical research placements. We have populated a list of available research opportunities throughout North America for pre-medical students interested in getting an edge in medical research.

Before beginning your research project, you will complete a mandatory medical research preparation program facilitated by our medical doctors. This is to ensure you have a solid understanding of medical research, critical appraisal, literature review, and how to go about attaining successful publications. Once you have the necessary background, your medical coach will help you with your project every step of the way until it is accepted for publication, abstract, poster or oral presentation. We guarantee matching you to a medical research position. Some medical research positions are offered locally, and some medical research positions will be offered remotely via frequent videoconferences.

Your Medical Research Preparation

In advanced of your guaranteed medical research placement, you will complete an online MedApplications™ medical research webinar and mandatory certification quiz. Students who are successful in attaining this credential will then proceed to a live medical consultation with your medical research coach. This is a fantastic resume builder for medical school.

Once you have been briefed on the medical research position, requirements and expectations, you will begin the medical research process. Medical research positions will vary, but will include, lab research, clinical research, clinical trials, patient interactions and population research. Your medical coach is there to support you in ensuring you complete the research project successfully and attain a publication, poster, abstract or oral presentation.
